Modern Thalia

This is a work in progress. I enjoy traveling, exploring restaurants, meeting people, going to fun films, great music, and testing out some fantastic beverages! Naturally, I enjoy a good joke and a funny story. Will add more to this page later.

Here is a little humor shared by Lady Elizabeth. Create a humorous page on your site and I might list it in the Tavern.

Muse Thalia of Ancient Greece

Muse Thalia is the traditional muse for comedy and merrymaking...a natural match for the congenial atmosphere of Taverna. It is also said that the praises she sings for Taverna residents helps them flourish and lasts for long periods of time.

Thalia (Thaleia), also known as the "Flourishing", is the muse of comedy and of playful and idyllic poetry, and is seen with a comic mask. She is sometimes seen with a crown of ivy and a crook. By Apollo, Thalia had the Corybantes, priests who castrated themselves in identification with the goddess, Cybele.
